How we protect your family's stories
Last updated: October 3, 2026
The short version
- We never sell, rent or trade your family's information, and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- Your parent's voice and stories are never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- Canadian families' memories will be stored in Canada, and American families' in the United States.
- You can ask for a copy of everything we hold, or for it to be deleted, at any time. We act within 30 days.
1. Who we are
EchoMi Legacy is a product of FlowSolve.ai, a business of Innovnt AI Corp. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our checkout, our Story Steward calls and the EchoMi Legacy service.
Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is Frederick Paatz, Founder. You can reach him at hello@echomi.ai or by mail at 75 Concession 11 Road East, Freelton, Ontario L8B 1H7, Canada.
2. What we collect
| Information | From whom | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email, phone and billing country | You, at checkout | To process your order, contact you and know which country stores your family's memories |
| Your parent's name and email or phone, the gift date and, for Gift Plus, a mailing address | You, at checkout | To deliver the gift, mail the card and let a Story Steward contact your parent |
| Payment card details | You, directly to Stripe | To take payment. We never see or store your full card number |
| Booking details and Story Steward notes | You, your parent, Cal.com | To schedule and run setup calls |
| Recordings, stories, letters, photos, important dates and the Digital Likeness Directive | Your parent and the family members they invite | To provide the EchoMi Legacy service your parent asked for |
| Your currency choice | Your browser | Saved only on your own device so the page remembers CAD or USD |
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first, and any tracking will be off unless you turn it on.
3. Your parent's consent
When you buy EchoMi Legacy as a gift, you give us your parent's contact details so we can reach them. Your parent then decides for themselves whether to take part. If they decline, we refund you under our Terms and delete their details.
Nothing is created in your parent's voice without their recorded permission, verified identity and a signed Digital Likeness Directive. Your parent can withdraw that permission at any time, and First Person mode stops immediately.
4. What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use your family's voice, stories or letters to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. The AI services we use process them only to answer your family, under contracts that do not allow training on them.
- We never show ads, and never send upgrade offers to a family after a death.
5. Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted service providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, under contract, and may not use it for anything else.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments and billing | Your name, email, card and billing details |
| Cal.com | Booking Story Steward calls | Name, email and booking time |
| Airtable and n8n | Our order records and automated emails | Order and contact details, never recordings or stories |
| Our email provider | Sending confirmations and reminders | Name and email |
| PostGrid | Printing and mailing Gift Plus cards | Your parent's name, mailing address and card message |
| Vercel | Hosting this website | Standard web request data such as IP address |
| Secure cloud database and AI providers | Storing your family's memories and powering Echo | Memories, stored in your family's own country |
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example a valid court order, and we will tell you when the law allows us to.
6. Where your information is stored
Your family's memories (recordings, stories, letters, photos and directives) will be stored in your own country: on Canadian servers for Canadian families and on US servers for American families. The country is set from the billing country you give at checkout.
Some order and contact details are handled by the providers listed above, several of which operate in the United States. That means a Canadian family's order details may be processed outside Canada, and may be subject to the laws of that country. For residents of Quebec, this includes communication of personal information outside Quebec, which we assess before it happens.
7. Who can see it
- Order and contact details: only your Story Steward and our two founders.
- Your parent's memories: only the family members your parent approves, and later the Legacy Executor your parent names.
- Our team: we open a family's memories only when your parent or the Legacy Executor asks us to help, or when needed to keep the service safe.
8. How long we keep it
- While a plan is active: we keep everything so the service works.
- When a plan ends: we keep the memories for 90 days so your family can download them free of charge or choose the Legacy Archive. After 90 days, we delete them.
- Legacy Archive: we keep the memories stored and playable for as long as the archive is paid for.
- Payment and tax records: we keep these for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as Canadian tax law requires.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information, except records the law requires us to keep;
- send your family's memories to you in a common format you can keep;
- withdraw a consent you gave us.
Email hello@echomi.ai. We will confirm who you are, then act within 30 days. Erasing memories is permanent and cannot be undone. We will never treat you differently for using these rights.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you live in Quebec, or the privacy regulator or attorney general in your state.
10. How we keep it safe
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it, each with their own login and two-step verification. Family memories are separated so one family can never see another's. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the regulators as the law requires.
11. Children
EchoMi Legacy is bought and managed by adults. Grandchildren may appear in a parent's stories or be invited as family members by a parent or guardian, and their information is protected the same way.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make an important change, we will email account holders before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page.
